I’m currently visiting my parents in North Carolina and enjoying some gorgeous autumn weather. It’s kind of a short vacation from my writing center work and my work with the other blogs. While I’ve been here, we’ve been on the hunt for local craft beer (for E. and his craft beer obsessions). I’ve been able to find some from the breweries we visited during our honeymoon to Asheville, mainly Green Man Brewery and Highland Brewing Company–but don’t tell E.! (Already, I’m wishing we could go back to Asheville!) My parents and I bopped around historic downtown Belmont where I picked out a gold-filled necklace made by a jeweler in Charlotte.
It’s amazing to hear the dead leaves rattle outside and smell the “fall smell” that simply doesn’t exist in Corpus Christi. So far, the trip has provided some much-needed perspective on where I’m going with my work and creative ambitions, including the pursuit of aesthetic bliss–but more on that later! Time for a walk through the neighborhood.
What are your favorite things to do during the fall? Whatever they are, I hope you’re doing them and enjoying the season!
